Search Engine Optimization (SEO) relies entirely on search engines being able to crawl and index your web pages. If Googlebot cannot access your page, it will never appear in search results, no matter how good your content or backlinks are.
Our free No-Index Checker performs a comprehensive three-step verification to ensure your URLs are fully accessible to search engines:
We actively fetch your domain's robots.txt file and parse the rules to ensure your specific URL path is not disallowed for Googlebot or global crawlers.
We download the raw HTML of your page and scan the <head> section for <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> directives that prevent indexing.
Sometimes developers block indexing via HTTP headers (often for PDFs or non-HTML files). We check the server's raw HTTP response for X-Robots-Tag: noindex.
Robots.txt tells Googlebot whether it is allowed to crawl (download) a page. If a page is blocked in robots.txt, Google won't crawl it, but it might still index the URL if other sites link to it.
Meta Noindex tells Googlebot that it is not allowed to index the page. To see a meta noindex tag, Googlebot must be allowed to crawl the page. If you block a page in robots.txt, Google will never see your meta noindex tag.
robots.txt file in the root directory of your website. Look for lines that say Disallow: / or list the specific path of your URL under User-agent: * or User-agent: Googlebot. Remove those lines or change them to Allow.
